Spine and Shoulder Injuries

ID: exh73920b
This exhibit begins with one sagittal (side cut-away) view of the upper aspects of the spine from the base of the skull down to the mid-thoracic region. This image provides an overall orientation to the various spinal injuries including the disc herniation at T6-7 and the widespread mild degenerative changes in the cervical spine with osteophytes and small disc bulges at multiple levels. This image is based specifically on the MRI scans of the cervical and thoracic spine.rnNext, one large posterior view of the right shoulder region reveals the skeletal anatomy of the ribcage, scapula and right upper arm and including the deep musculature of this region This includes the various intercostal muscles and the the deep muscles of the shoulder girdle. Also, the labrum is shown within the glenohumeral joint. This allows for an overall appreciation of the location of the labrum compared to the location of the bottom of the scapula to make it clear that there is a significant distance between these two regions.
